We are delighted to share with you that REMAP-CAP has been selected by the NIHR as the platform trial to evaluate therapeutic interventions for influenza! It is great that they have recognised all the fantastic work you have helped achieve with COVID-19 and now we can continue to use our exciting trial design to study flu in a wider population. We have also extended the study into the paediatric cohort. Please see the domains available to paediatric patients below. Moderate

Severe disease state is defined as patients who receive organ failure support in an ICU.

Moderate disease state is defined as:

not being admitted to an ICU, or
admitted to an ICU but not receiving organ failure support

I.1 – No antiviral for influenza
I.2 – Oseltamivir 5 days
I.3 – Oseltamivir 10 days
I.4 – Baloxavir on days 1 and 4 *
I.5 – 5 days Oseltamivir + Baloxavir on days 1 & 4 *
I.6 – 10 days Oseltamivir + Baloxavir on days 1 & 4 *

Please do take swabs on day 1, 3 and 7 for randomised patients who are flu positive and post these back to the address included on the return safe box.
